Prolonged sitting is now considered a risk factor in its own right. This means that people who sit a lot can fall ill even if they are otherwise active in their leisure time. Not even athletes are on the safe side. That's because our bodies simply aren't made for permanently shutting down our cardiovascular system and metabolism over many hours and permanently putting one-sided strain on our backs when we sit. How to counteract these problems with simple means is the focus. You will get an overview of how you can activate your body with regular movement impulses and thus create an effective contrast to the harmful effects of permanent sitting.
