Relaxing by Tensing – PMR

Stress and muscle tension can reinforce each other. The method of progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) is based on the fact that mental illnesses can be associated with muscle tension. The targeted relaxation of muscles can reduce the activity of nerves and thus also reduce mental tension. Relaxed muscles relax the nerves and thus facilitate relaxation and stress management. In this workshop, you gradually tense all muscle groups strongly under guidance and then relax them again. Tension and relaxation occur in a rhythm that is as constant as possible, so that the muscles relax progressively.

This workshop is accompanied by a short theoretical input.

  • The procedure of PMR
  • The joint performance of PMR
